Creating and Filling Metadata Columns

The Congree Authoring Server enables you to extract metadata from the Congree Authoring Client by means of flexible settings. The extracted metadata are listed in custom-created columns in the Data Grooming Manager.

The metadata extraction is based on the principle that metadata exist in the form of XML attribute values. If sentences exist in XML format and are sent to the Data Grooming Manager, their attributes and attribute values can be transmitted at the same time.

Objective:

When sending the sentence to the Data Grooming Manager, the attribute and its value are to be sent along and be presented in the Data Grooming Manager.

Procedure:

  1. Create a table column for your attribute under Settings – Data Grooming and click Save:
  2. Set up a flexible setting for the required document-specific rule set under Settings – Document (see Setting up Flexible Settings) and save the document-specific rule set. The attribute serves as extraction value, and the table column as setting category:

  4. In the Data Grooming Manager, open the Column Chooser (see Removing Table Columns).
