Style Guide – Terminology

The Terminology menu has two submenus:

  1. Variant recognition: As part of your terminology configuration, you define which term variant patterns are to be recognized during term variant recognition.
  2. Candidates filter: As part of your terminology configuration, you define which words should not be extracted as term candidates.


The area for managing terminology configurations applies to the entire menu:

  1. Language drop-down list: Select the language for your terminology configuration.
  2. Sublanguage drop-down list: Select the sublanguage for your terminology configuration.
  3. Configuration drop-down list: If you have already created one or more terminology configurations, you can select a terminology configuration here.
  4. Create configuration button: Create a new terminology configuration.
  5. Clone configuration button: Clone the selected terminology configuration. The button is only enabled when a terminology configuration is selected under Configuration.
  6. Edit configuration button: Change the name of the selected terminology configuration. The button is only enabled when a terminology configuration is selected under Configuration.
  7. Delete configuration button: Delete the selected terminology configuration. The button is only enabled when a terminology configuration is selected under Configuration
  8. Export configuration button: Export a terminology configuration as XML file with the .settings file format.
  9. Import configuration button: Import a terminology configuration as an XML file with the .settings file format.
