Style Guide – User Lexicon

In the User Lexicon menu, you enter words that are either not processed at all or are classified as incorrect in Congree. This ensures that these words are correctly analyzed during subsequent processing in Congree.

The Congree system lexicon comprehensively covers English vocabulary. Special words may nevertheless be unfamiliar to Congree, such as:

  • company-specific abbreviations
  • product names
  • terms in foreign languages

To avoid annoying false alarms from the Congree Language Check, you can enter these kinds of words into the user lexicon.

The User lexicon menu has four submenus:

Configuring the area for managing user lexicon configurations

  1. Language drop-down list: Select the language of the user lexicons you want to configure.
  2. Sublanguage drop-down list: Select the sublanguage of the user lexicons you want to configure.
  3. Configuration drop-down list: If you have already created one or more user lexicons, you can select a user lexicon configuration here.
  4. Create button: Create a new user lexicon configuration.
  5. Clone button: Clone the selected user lexicon. The button is only enabled when a user lexicon configuration is selected under Lexicon.
  6. Edit button: Change the name of the selected user lexicon. The button is only enabled when a user lexicon configuration is selected under Lexicon.
  7. Delete button: Delete the selected user lexicon. The button is only enabled when a user lexicon configuration is selected under Lexicon
  8. Export button: Export a user lexicon configuration as XML file with the .settings file format.
  9. Import button: Import a user lexicon configuration as an XML file with the .settings file format.
