Workflows
The Data Grooming Manager offers various possibilities for the Authoring Memory maintenance. In total, there are three workflows for the work in the Data Grooming Manager.
Evaluation
The initial workflow for the Data Grooming users consists of the evaluation, i.e. the approval and discarding of Authoring Memory Candidates.
Authors submit sentences, thereby requesting these to be added to the Authoring Memory. Data Grooming users determine whether to add the sentences. Inappropriate sentences are discarded. In the Congree Authoring Client, the authors receive substantiated feedback when they compose a discarded sentence. In this way, the Data Grooming users interact with the authors.
The evaluation can be followed by the Reevaluation workflow. Apart from the evaluation, Challenging is possible as well.
Reevaluation
The reevaluation workflow is based on the Evaluation.
The basic idea of the reevaluation is that due to changed framework conditions, decisions might no longer be valid and need to be reevaluated.
This is where the reevaluation workflow comes in. Approved sentences may be discarded by Data Grooming users for specific reasons. Discarded sentences may be approved. Reevaluations are possible without any limitations and are documented in an evaluation history.
The reevaluation workflow does not involve any interaction with the authors.
Apart from the reevaluation, Challenging is possible as well.
Challenging
In the ideal case, an Authoring Memory contains correct sentences that can be reused without without thinking twice.
In real life, however, the Authoring Memory may contain unwanted sentences, which e.g. no longer comply with a company's language policy.
To evaluate unwanted sentences, Data Grooming users can challenge the Authoring Memory proposals for the candidates in the Data Grooming Manager. After challenging them, they can evaluate the Authoring Memory proposals in the Challenged menu.
Discarded proposals in the candidate hive can also be challenged. In this way, previously discarded sentences that are now considered suitable can be added to the Authoring Memory.
The challenging workflow does not take place separately, but alongside the other Data Grooming workflows: Evaluation and Reevaluation.
