Language Check Panel

Note:

The linguistically enhanced Congree Language Check is available for the following languages:

  • German

  • English

  • French

  • Spanish

Congree provides a basic Language Check for the following languages:

  • Italian

  • Japanese

 

The Language Check Panel displays the notifications of the Language Check.

The following notification categories are displayed:

  • Spelling

  • Grammar

  • Style

  • Terminology

  • Abbreviations

  • Valid terms

Overview of the Language Check Panel:

a) Panel Toolbar

  1. Previous error and Next error buttons: Navigate from notification to notification in the editor.

  2. Display of the Release Level: The level is displayed on the left, the value on the right (highest value: 100).

Important:

To be able to use the release level view, the Language Check Report feature must be installed and licensed.

Important:

The Valid terms notification category does not affect the release level.

  1. Number of notifications for the checked text

  2. Show/hide ignored rules button: Click to show notifications for ignored rules. The counter provides information on the number of hits ignored.

  3. Show/hide details button: Show or hide the details in the notifications.

  4. Show/hide report button: Show or hide the report (7).

  5. Report with notification categories: Behind each category, you can see how many messages are open for this category. Click on a category to show or hide it.

  1. Show Language Check Report button: Show the language check report in a new browser window. Click on this button to display the details of the report as described in the chapter Reporting Manager – Reports.

c) Notification: Information

  1. Keyword: The keyword briefly describes the error. It is usually formulated instructively.

  2. Correction proposal for direct insertion in the document. For certain errors, no correction proposal is offered for direct insertion in the document. In these cases, the error needs to be corrected manually.

  3. Instruction: The instruction supplements the summary and indicates how you can correct the identified error.

  4. Explanation: An explanation shows an option for correcting the notification.

  5. Example: An example shows how an option for correcting the notification.

  6. Notification category and rule ID: The notification category shows whether a spelling notification, grammar notification, style notification, terminology notification, abbreviation notification, or a valid term is present. The rule ID represents a unique identifier for each rule. If Congree classes (see Congree Control Center Manual) have been assigned, the rule ID will be followed by these classes.

  7. Severity indicator: The color indicates the severity of the error.

d) Notification: Buttons

  1. Apply for entire document button: Apply a correction proposal for identical notifications directly to your text.

  2. Ignore button: Select Ignore in order to hide an individual notification.

  3. Ignore all button: Select Ignore all in order to hide a notification that appears repeatedly.

  4. Deactivate Rule button: Click Deactivate Rule in order to deactivate a rule during the current session.
