Check:

  • Congree manuals received and read?

    • On how many servers will Congree be installed in your company?

    • Will the database be located on a separate server?

  • System requirements checked?

System Requirements and Installation Scenarios

Preparation

  • Across as 3rd party connection:

    • When using the Authoring Memory or the terminology component: Set up an Across user for Congree and generate a generic softkey.

    • When using Congree Data Grooming features: Set up the following user-defined system attributes under "Tools" - "System Settings" - "System Attributes":

      • CongreeOrigin with attribute value DataGrooming

      • CongreeState with attribute values Approved and Discarded

  • Other 3rd party tools:

    • Make sure that all necessary modules are licensed and available

    • Add a user for Congree with all necessary rights.

  • Make sure that an SQL administrator who is allowed to create databases is available during the installation.

Designate the configuration host

Run the Deployment Assistant on a host and set up an environment configuration.

Important:

The host must be available on the server side, and the Deployment Assistant must be able to connect to it during the installation. Usually the Congree application server meets these conditions and can therefore be used as configuration host.

Turning a Computer into a Configuration Host

Configuration

  1. Set up all client configurations and specify the client host in each case.

  2. Specify all hosts on which server components are to be installed.

  3. Determine what is to be installed on the specified hosts.

  4. Configure the components until the configuration is viable.

Installing the server components

  1. Perform the Deployment Assistant installation step on every host on which server components are to be installed.

  2. Optional for databases: Execute the previously generated SQL script on the database host.
