Installing and updating the client

If you have configured the Congree Update Agent in the Deployment Assistant, you must perform the installation manually one last time.
To do this, use the full Congree Deployment Assistant or the Congree Deployment Assistant Lite. The result will be the same in both cases. In the first case the configuration is retrieved from the server, in the second case the configuration and the installation files are retrieved.
From now on, the Congree Update Agent will also be executed on the computer on which the Congree Authoring Client or the Congree Control Center is installed. The next time the server is updated, this update will be passed on to the clients.

We have compiled further information on the differences between the Congree Deployment Assistant and the Congree Deployment Assistant Lite on this page.

The update via the Congree Update Agent

If an update has been installed on the server, the Congree Authoring Client or the Congree Control Center receives a signal the next time the user logs in. The user then sees a notification with the question: "When do you want to update?".

If you select Later, the same question will be asked again the next time you start the Congree Authoring Client or Congree Control Center.
If you select Now, the download of the required components begins in the background. After closing the editor, the installation begins. The installation progress is displayed in a program window. When prompted, click Verify or Install in this window. When the installation is complete, click Close.

Further notes
If several editors with Congree are open at the same time, the installation will only start after all editors have been closed.

Depending on your local settings, you will also be notified of the progress of the update in the Windows Notification Center.

The process does not require any special administrative rights.
