The Menu for Configuring Client Components

In the Client submenu of the Configuration menu of the Deployment Assistant, you can configure the client components for a Congree installation.

Overview of the Client Submenu

  1. Back button: Go to the Deployment Assistant start menu.
  2. Server button: Go to the menu for configuring server components.
  3. Input screen Configuration name: Enter a name for your Congree configuration. The name will apply both to the client side and to the server side. If you do not enter any name, your configuration will be named Default.
  4. Input screen Description: Describe your Congree configuration (optional). The description will apply both to the client side and to the server side.
  5. Location display: The IP address or host name of your configuration host is displayed here.
  6. Drag-and-drop element For authors: Add client components for authors to the available clients via drag and drop.
  7. Drag-and-drop element For administrators: Add client components for administrators to the available clients via drag and drop.
  8. Arrow button: Expand the client components in order to see the respective subcomponents and add them to the available clients via drag and drop.
  9. List of available client: All clients that you can assign client components are displayed here.
  10. Add client button: Add clients to the list of available clients.
  11. Default client: Assign client components to the undeletable Default client.
  12. Added client: Assign client components to a client added by yourself.
    1. Exclamation mark: Indicates you still need to assign the client its host, a location in the directory, and a name for the configuration.
    2. Input field for name: Specify a name for the client configuration.
    3. Input field for directory: Specify an installation directory for a client.
    4. Drag-and-drop field for client components: Assign client components to the client via drag and drop.
    5. Delete button: Delete a client created by yourself.
    6. Arrow button: Expand the Hosts area in order to assign one or several hosts to the client.
    7. Hosts area: Assign one or several hosts to the client.
    8. Delete button: Delete an assigned host.
  13. Save button: Save your client configuration. An exclamation mark indicates that the particular configuration is not yet viable.

Overview of the Drag-and-Drop Element Congree Authoring Client

  1. Icon that indicates that one or several of the components must be assigned in order for the client configuration to be viable.
  2. Icon that indicates that at least one element of the component group must be assigned in order for the server configuration to be viable.
  3. Component group Editor plug-ins: Add individual editor plug-ins to the client via drag and drop. To assign all editor plug-ins, move the entire drag-and-drop element Congree Authoring Client to the client.
  4. Component group Components: Move the Congree windows to the client via drag and drop in order to determine which Congree windows are to be available in the clients. To make all Congree windows available, move the entire drag-and-drop element Congree Authoring Client to the client.

Overview of the Drag-and-Drop Element Congree Control Center

  1. Assign the Congree Control Center to the client.

Note:

The Deployment Assistant will automatically install the Congree Control Center for all users of this machine.
