Finding Term Candidates

There are three different ways how you can find suitable term candidates that you can propose for inclusion in your corporate terminology:

  • Congree automatically identifies term candidates.
  • With a click, you can add terms in your text that Congree has not identified as term candidates to the list of term candidates.
  • You can enter your own term candidates in an input dialog.

Requirements:

  • You are in the Term Candidates Panel.

This is how you can have Congree automatically identify term candidates:

  1. Congree automatically identifies term candidates during the following actions:
  2. Click in an existing sentence
  3. When writing text
  4. Section check
  5. Document check
  6. The term candidates that are identified in the checked sentences are collected in the Term Candidates Panel.

How to convert terms from your text into term candidates:

  1. Select a term.
  2. Click Add selection as term candidate:
  3. The term is in the Term Candidates Panel.

How to enter your own term candidates:

  1. Click Add new term candidate.

    1. An input dialog will open up:
  2. Enter the term and a possible context.
  3. Click Propose.
  4. The term candidates is directly proposed for inclusion in your corporate terminology.

Background: Term Candidates in Different Contexts

If a term candidate occurs more than once in a text, the occurrences will be combined to one entry in the Term Candidates Panel.

If the term candidate occurs in different sections, you can navigate between the hits with the help of an arrow button:

If the term candidate occurs in different sentences in a single section, only one context is on hand, as a section is regarded as a single context.
