If an Authoring Memory proposal does not differ from the newly created sentence, a match level of 100% will be indicated in the Authoring Memory Panel. For every difference, a certain percentage is deducted from the 100%. A basic penalty is generated with the help of an algorithm.

With the Congree Authoring Memory Server as backend

A penalty is applied in the following cases:

Example, explanation:

Different text

"The headset is large" vs. "The headset is blue"

This is a default penalty that cannot be modified.

Further penalties are applied in the following cases:

Example, explanation:

Switched words

"A large and heavy bag" vs. "A heavy and large bag"

Different special characters

"10%" vs. "10 %"

Special characters include all characters that are not language characters, punctuation marks, or decimal/hexadecimal digits. For example, a space is also a special character.

The position of a special character is also relevant: If a special character appears at a different position in the sentence, a penalty will be applied.

Different punctuation

"Close the window." vs. "Close the window!"

The position of a punctuation mark is also relevant: If an identical punctuation mark appears at a different position in the sentence, a penalty will be applied.

Different inline elements

Different structure

The new headset
vs.
The new headset

Different capitalization
