  1. Under Components, select the terminology database from which the export is to take place. Specify where the terminology is to be imported to.
  2. Under Data mappings, select the applicable Across crossTerm instance or SDL MultiTerm database and, optionally, the required term filter.
  3. The left column of the Attributes table lists all term attributes that exist in your style guides. In the right column, select the corresponding attributes in your terminology database:

    When you click an attribute in the left column of the Attributes table, its attribute values will be displayed in the Values table. In this way, you can navigate between the values of various attributes.
    1. Once you map an attribute to the corresponding attribute, the Values table will be filled with the available attribute values.
  4. In the Values table, map the attribute values from your Style Guides to the corresponding values in the terminology database.
  5. Select which special rules should apply with no or more than one preferred term when importing terms.

    1. If no preferred term exists, choose "do not import" or use an existing admitted term as preferred term.

    2. If more than one preferred term exists, choose "do not import" or prefer a term on the basis of definable attributes.

  6. Go to Language mapping and determine the sublanguage and the Style Guides that terms are to be imported to.
  7. Under Trigger, select whether you want to execute the synchronization once or repeatedly.
    • For a one-time synchronization: Deactivate the option Enable automatic execution. The other controls in this area will remain grayed out.
    • For a regular synchronization: Activate the option Enable automatic execution. Select a time for the first execution and a repetition interval.
  8. To save your synchronization, click Save.
  1. The synchronization job has been successfully saved.

How to start a synchronization job:

Under synchronization job, click Execute.

  • The job will be executed.
  • You can find the imported terminology in the style guides, which are linked to selected document-specific rule sets.
  • You can find the details of the synchronization process in the log files.
