In the TermSync menu, you can synchronize terminology between your terminology database and the Congree Authoring Server.

The individual areas of the menu are listed below.

Overview of the Synchronization Job Area

  1. Drop-down list of synchronization jobs: Select a synchronization job.
  2. Create button: Create a new synchronization job.
  3. Clone button: Duplicate the selected synchronization job.
  4. Delete button: Delete the selected synchronization job.
  5. Execute button: Synchronize terminology on the basis of selected synchronization job.

Overview of the Components Area

  1. Drop-down list Origin: Select the terminology database from which you would like to export terminology.
  2. Drop-down list Target: Select the destination to which you would like to import terminology. By default, terminology will be imported to your style guides.

Overview of the Mapping Area

  1. Drop-down list Origin: Select the terminology database from which terminology is to be exported.
  2. Drop-down list Source filter set: Select the term filter to be applied to the terminology to be imported.
  3. Attributes table:
    1. Style guide column: This column contains all term attributes of your style guide.
    2. Source: Use the drop-down lists to map the term attributes of your Style Guide to their counterparts in the terminology database.
  4. Values table:
    1. Style Guide column: This column contains all available values for the attributes listed in the Attributes table.
    2. Source: Use the drop-down lists to map the attribute values of your Style Guide to their counterparts in the terminology database.
  5. Special rules option: Define special rules for the import of terms.
    1. Determine how terms without preferred term are to be handled:
      • The respective terms will not be imported. 
      • Or: Existing admitted terms will be used as preferred terms.
    2. Determine how terms with more than one preferred term are to be handled:
      • The respective terms will not be imported.
      • Or: On the basis of the term attributes, configure which preferred term is to be preferred during the import.

Important:

An attribute or value cannot be mapped repeatedly within a table.

Overview of the Language Mapping Area

  1. Drop-down list German: Select the sublanguage of the German terms to be exported from the terminology database.
  2. Drop-down list German Style Guides: Select the Style Guide(s) the terms are to be imported to.
  3. Drop-down list English: Select the sublanguage of the English terms to be exported from the terminology database.
  4. Drop-down list English Style Guides: Select the Style Guide(s) the terms are to be imported to.
  5. Drop-down list French: Select the sublanguage of the French terms to be exported from the terminology database.
  6. Drop-down list French Style Guides: Select the Style Guide(s) the terms are to be imported to.
  7. Drop-down list Spanish: Select the sublanguage of the Spanish terms to be exported from the terminology database.
  8. Drop-down list Spanish Style Guides: Select the Style Guide(s) the terms are to be imported to.

Overview of the Trigger Area

  1. Enable automatic execution option: Activate this option in order to execute the terminology synchronization automatically.
  2. Drop-down list First execution: If you enabled automatic execution, you can determine the time for the first execution here.
  3. Repetition options: If you enabled automatic execution, you can select the intervals for the terminology synchronization here.
